Advice for laundering your bed and bath linens
Properly caring for your fine linens should help you enjoy your purchase
for years to come.
In general these guidelines should be used in caring for all your fine
linens:
- Read care labels on all products before washing
- Read instructions on all cleaning products before use
- Like fabrics should be washed together
- Bleach will break down natural fibers reducing the durability of the
fabric
- Bleach will also fade or streak colored cotton or linen
- Bleach on silk and rayon will turn the cloth yellow or gray
- Separate whites, lights, brights and darks
- Spot stains from the reverse side (on to a towel or soft colorfast
cloth) so the stain works out of the cloth
- Always test fabric before using spotting agents.
COTTON SHEETING
Wash cotton sheets in warm water cold rinse with phosphate free, chlorine
free soap. We find that front loading washers and liquid soap in small
loads works best. Do not use softeners in the rinse. Remove promptly from
the washer to avoid setting wrinkles. Shaking out wet linens before drying
helps reduce wrinkles. Hang dry or tumble dry at low heat. Remove promptly
so as not to set wrinkles. Press on medium high heat as needed.
MICRO FIBER SHEETING
Wash micro fiber sheeting with like products in cold water gentle cycle
with phosphate free chlorine free soap. Rinse in cold water and do not
use softeners. Tumble dry at low heat. Remove promptly so as to not set
wrinkles. Press if needed on low heat.
LINEN SHEETING
Wash same as cotton sheeting. Tumble dry at low heat or for best results,
line dry. Press on high heat as needed. A press cloth is recommended to
avoid scorching.
